Biggins is more than a tortoise—she is a celebration of life.

As a rescued Critically Endangered radiated tortoise (Astrochelys radiata) from Madagascar, Biggins represented one of the most breathtaking tortoise species on Earth. Her shell was a masterpiece of nature, with golden rays radiating from every scute, making radiated tortoises famous for their incredible beauty. Tragically, that same beauty has made them a target for poaching and the illegal wildlife trade, pushing the species toward extinction.

When Biggins came into our lives, she became something much greater than a rescue. She became an ambassador—a living reminder of why Garden State Tortoise exists.

For more than a year, Biggins fought with incredible strength. Through countless veterinary visits, treatments, setbacks, and moments of hope, she reminded us every single day why every life is worth fighting for. Despite every effort to save her, Biggins ultimately passed away, leaving behind a hole in our hearts that can never truly be filled. But her story didn't end there.

This plush is our way of celebrating the beautiful life she lived and ensuring that her legacy continues to inspire others.

Every video we create, every rescue we perform, every animal we care for, and every person we inspire is driven by one mission: to ensure that incredible species like Biggins continue to exist for generations to come.
